Update: The move has been completed.

In the last week, I rented a new dedicated server from a well-known hosting company. While there is likely to be little difference noticed in-game between which machine the game server is on, the gain from the actual differences should make Pearl more resilient to heavier load on the new one. I set up software needed and began preparation to move Pearl over.

As this move is non-emergency, I have the opportunity to reduce downtime by moving the data when it's convenient and in a couple steps. However, when it comes to the point of the world files, I will need to have the server offline for the entire process of creating a backup, packaging, and transferring them over to the new machine. The total downtime may be in the range of 6 ~...

Being new, the reading is currently slim, but it will include important news, a little bit of humor, and in the rare case of server problems, a heads up.

Pearl has been removed from Minetown, including proxy access to the Minetown servers. Pearl is remaining part of Eximius Gaming though and I am hopeful that this move will be beneficial to Pearl's future.

Pearl is currently down due to a nefarious creeper plot. It seems that many clans of creepers have conspired to attack the world and have changed some of the world generation blocks. They seem to be in cahoots with the Wither skeletons as the nether is also affected. Don't worry, as the Awesome Duo of ModernDragoness and Cyberdrifter have teamed up and donned their best attack gear and are in the process of explaining the facts of life,..in great detail,..to the various nay-doers that have undertaken the plot to take over the worlds of Pearl. It is expected that they shall prevail in triumph over the evil creepers and their dastardly minions, and restore peace and tranquility back to our home. All is expected to return to normal. Please be patient while they do battle on your behalf.....
