Pearlmc uses a plugin to make pumpkins grow "uncarved" and require "carving" to appear with vanilla faces. Uncarved pumpkins can be used like normal pumpkins in every way: making pumpkin pies, jack o lanterns, anti-enderman helmets, diving helmets, etc. Placing an uncarved pumpkin will maintain the uncarved state, so you can use them to decorate.

Carving requires using any axe on the side of the placed pumpkin you want carved. This will slightly damage the tool, same as using axe to break a log. Alternatively, pistons also will break an uncarved pumpkin into a normal pumpkin. (may change in future)
Note: Uncarved pumpkins are considered a different item to vanilla (carved) pumpkins when it comes to SignShop.

It also allows more choice in formatting signs.

Usage(top)

The first line is the type (buy, sell, trade, or donate) of shop. Blue text means the shop has stock, red text means the shop is empty or broken, black text means the sign is not active as a shop.
The second and third line can be written however you like.
The fourth sign is the amount of Currency. You can format the amount with only a number or with additional text. Sell and buy shops count only RP Currency. Trade signs allow using Pearl or other items as Currency.

Punch a sign once to see the details of the shop, such as what exactly you will get, what you will pay, and how much stock is in the linked chest. Please make a habit of checking this information.

"Use" a shop sign to do a transaction with it.

Shop Creation(top)
Follow the sign formats shown above. Do not worry about the color of the first line, it will be automatically updated.
The chests(s) used for the shop do not have to be in the same area as the sign, but you should place the chest(s) on land you have claimed and is safe from other players accessing it.

Buy & Sell Signs(top)
Place the quantity of item you want a single transaction to use in the chest.
Equip a piece of redstone dust in your hand and hit the chest. You will be told that the chest location has been stored and what the chest contains.

Go to the shop sign and hit it with the redstone dust. You will be told if you have successfully linked the chest and sign, as well as the recorded rate and stock status of the shop.

Once the shop chest and sign are linked, you can remove or add items from the linked chest without altering the exchange rate.

Trade Signs(top)
Trade signs involves using two chests, one for the item you're accepting and one for the item you're giving. So if you want to sell 32 cobble for 1 Pearl per transaction, then one chest should only contain 32 cobble and the other should contain only 1 Pearl.

Equip a piece of redstone dust in your hand and hit the chest containing the item you want to receive. In the noted example, it would be the chest containing the Pearl. You will be told that the chest location has been stored and what the chest contains.

Next use the redstone dust to hit the chest containing the items you want to give. In the noted example, it would be the chest containing the cobblestone. You will be told that the chest location has been stored and what the chest contains.

Now go to the shop sign and hit it with the redstone dust. You will be told if you have successfully linked the chests and sign, as well as the recorded rate and stock status of the shop.

History

Pearlmc was founded in July 2012 by ModernDragoness with the name WhitePearlmc, sponsored by Eximius Gaming. Pearl started as simply a semi-vanilla server with four Worlds, though these Worlds were a little different from the current Worlds of Pearl. The idea was to have a casual server that was enjoyable but still survival mode.

In January 2013, WhitePearlmc was largely reset and rebranded as Pearlmc. The current Worlds were freshly created, though Ateph has since been reset a couple times as a world intentionally created for destruction. Pearl's previous description was altered at this time to represent a more challenging game experience instead of merely a survival server.

In April 2013, Pearlmc transitioned from being a sponsored server of Eximius Gaming to a hosted server of Minetown (also part of Eximius Gaming). Pearlmc's own website was discarded as being barely used in favor of using Minetown's forums for website communications. Pearlmc maintained some independent identity but was fully considered part of Minetown and connected to the other Minetown servers.

In October 2013, cyberdrifter was promoted to co-owner of Pearl.

In April 2014, Pearlmc remained part of Minetown, but again returned to using its own website in the interest of better serving Pearl's members.

In October 2014, Pearlmc split from Minetown, and while remaining part of Eximius Gaming, is separately hosted.

You only lose claim blocks for the horizontal area you have claimed, not the whole volume. A 10x2x10 and a 10x10x10 claim will each only count as 100 blocks from your total.

Land claims can only be make in Lokai and Dasmir.

A player with no claims already can easily make a small one just by placing a chest in an unclaimed area. The chest can be moved afterwards without altering the claim, but area inside this first protection must be altered in order for the claim to last more than a week.

Resize a claim by selecting a gold shovel in your hotbar and selecting a corner of the existing claim. Then select the block you want to move the corner to.

If a player does not log in for over a year, their claims may be automatically removed.

/trust playername - gives the player full access to your claimed area, including build permission (affects only claim you're standing in)

/containertrust playername - allows the player to use containers, crafting blocks, levers/buttons, and animals (affects only claim you're standing in)

/accesstrust playername - only allows a person to use levers/buttons (affects only claim you're standing in)

/untrust playername - removes access from the player (affects only claim you're standing in)

/untrust all - clears all trust settings for the area (affects only claim you're standing in)

/subdivideclaims - allows creating subregions in area. Process for using this is same as normal claims.

/basicclaims - returns to normal method of claiming land

/abandonclaim - removes claim; essentially unprotects the area (affects only claim you're standing in)

/abandonallclaims - removes all of your claims; use with caution
